Become a Volunteer

Pipestone County Medical Center & Family Clinic is searching for people with caring hearts and time to share.  We are looking for volunteers to enhance our Hospice, Therapy, Admissions and Surgery departments.  There are many opportunities available at Pipestone County Medical  Center.

Volunteers at Pipestone County Medical Center are an integral part of our mission to provide exceptional care and service to our patients, families, and visitors.

In addition to the various services and tasks that volunteers perform, their greatest contribution is the courtesy, compassion and hospitality with which they serve. With the help of volunteers, we are able to provide an exceptional level of service to those who are entrusted to us for their healthcare needs. At Pipestone County Medical Center volunteers are needed and volunteers are appreciated.

How to Apply

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, start by completing the volunteer interest survey. Volunteer interest surveys may be obtained by calling Lori Bullerman, ADC, Volunteer Services at (507)825-6006 or by email: lori.bullerman@pcmchealth.org.

After your survey is received, Lori will contact you to discuss opportunities to volunteer at Pipestone County Medical Center and to complete the necessary paperwork to become a volunteer.  Also included is a State of MN Background Check.  We want to talk with you about your interests, expectations, motivations, skills and availability.  At the same time, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the volunteer program and our facility.  By completing these items it enables us to determine which area of the organization best suits your talents and gives legality to your status as a volunteer.

Volunteer Opportunities

Assignments of volunteers are made through Volunteer Services, with consideration given to your interests and skills and the needs of the organization. After a general orientation, your training will be on-the-job training specific to your position. You will be supervised by an experienced volunteer or staff member, as appropriate. The length of training will depend on the assignment and your comfort with the position. You will not be asked to work an assigned area alone until you feel comfortable doing so.
