Early Childhood Center earns high rating for quality

The Early Childhood Center, a service provided by the Sioux Center Community Hospital & Health Center, earns a 4 star quality rating for childhood centers and preschools by the state of Iowa.

Ratings are awarded on a 5 star scale. Providers receiving a rating of 3 stars or above have made significant steps in meeting key indicators of quality in the areas of:

• Professional development
• Health and safety
• Environment
• Family and community partnership
• Leadership and administration

"We are very proud of this accomplishment," said Melinda Eekhoff, co-director of the Center. "We all work very hard to provide the best care possible and this rating serves as encouragement for us to keep doing what we do best - and that's providing children with first-rate care and education."

Ratings are awarded in two separate categories - in home childcare centers, and child care centers/preschools.
