Hospice Volunteers of the Year Honored
LeRoy and Henrietta Dykstra of Hull were honored as Volunteers of the Year at the Annual Hospice Volunteer Banquet sponsored by CHEARS Home Health and Hospice of the Sioux Center hospital.
LeRoy and Henrietta have been volunteers for the CHEARS hospice program for 24 years. Throughout their service, they have been willing to serve patients and families directly, through prayer and also during the bereavement period. The Dykstras were described as having calm, kind, and gentle spirits, and they show great compassion to those they serve.
"The Dykstras are a blessing to those they serve, as well as to our hospice staff," said hospice coordinator Renae Negus. "We are so grateful to have them as a part of the hospice team."
Also recognized at the banquet was Fran Vollink of Hull for her 15 years of service for CHEARS Home Health and Hospice. Marion and Jan Van Soelen, also from Hull, were recognized for recently completing the hospice volunteer training.
