Hull Medical Clinic welcomes new patients

The Hull Medical Clinic will now have three providers available to see patients following Dr. Curtis Horstman's recent departure.

Dr. Scott Rens will continue his practice in Hull and provide ongoing care for the community. In addition, Jeanne Kleinhesselink and Anne Hooyer, both nurse practitioners, will be available for appointments.

"It's very important for us to provide quality care for Hull residents, and the addition of Jeanne and Anne will help ensure our community has access," stated Dr. Rens. The Hull Medical Clinic has been open for 20 years, with Dr. Rens practicing in Hull since April of 1996.

Dr. Rens was born and raised in the area, receiving his undergraduate degree from Dordt College. He then continued his education at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and completed his residency at Siouxland Medical Education Foundation. "It has been my distinct privilege to care for those I grew up around, and am excited about what the future holds."

The next step for the clinic will be to recruit a second family medicine physician. "We are in the process of recruiting another physician for Hull and feel very optimistic," said Mary McClung, Medical Clinic Director at the Sioux Center Community Hospital & Health Center Avera. "But in the meantime, we have complete confidence that Dr. Rens and our nurse practitioners will continue to provide care to those in need."
