Cardiopulmonary Testing
Heart disease, pulmonary dysfunction and stroke are among the leading causes of death in South Dakota and the nation. Accurate and early diagnosis of heart and lung problems can lead to improved quality of life.
The cardiopulmonary services department from Avera Queen of Peace visits Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital on the first Friday of each month to provide a variety of lung diagnostic testing, as well as therapies to improve breathing and reduce effects of chronic lung disorders.

Additionally, the Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital nursing staff, under the direction of a physician, provides nebulizer and oxygen therapies to both inpatients and outpatients.
