Nutrition Counseling / Dietician
Eating right and learning about good nutrition are important whether you're a hospitalized patient or just want to adopt a healthier lifestyle.
While at Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital, a registered dietician from Avera Queen of Peace will develop a personalized meal plan for you under the direction of your physician, and when appropriate, provide individualized nutrition counseling for weight management, cholesterol reduction, heart disease, sports nutrition, child nutrition, and weight loss caused by cancer, diabetes or pregnancy.
In addition to inpatient counseling, the dietician can provide external services to individuals, with a doctor's order, that include diet assessments, planning, education and counseling for individuals with specific needs, such as cardiac problems and diabetes.
Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital's Speakers Bureau offers a wide range of topics and speakers on nutrition. For more information on Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital's Speakers Bureau or to schedule a speaker, call 605-854-3329.
