Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.(ROMANS 5:7-8)
This passage takes my thoughts to the days when I had a son in the first Gulf War. By the Grace of God he came home to me unharmed physically, but he was willing to give his life for all of us, just as all of our young women and men are willing to do now in countries around the world and even here in the United States as members of our military.
I am so proud of his sense of love of others and I know that all of our soldiers will continue to put their lives on the line so that our lives remain as they are - free in this amazing country. What an amazing thing.
To think that God would give His son Jesus to prove their love for us is also amazing. That we can be loved that way, sinners or not brings such a feeling of peace.
Each day I work to be aware of the things I do and say, and at the end of the day I look back on how I did. Unfortunately I have a very long road ahead of me to become the person I believe Christ wants me to be, but hopefully I will never lose the desire to try. I will continue to pray for His forgiveness and ask Him to help me be a better person. I feel so blessed that He sees my struggles to be a better person and continues to love me, even when I make mistakes.
