“For you are my hope, O Lord; my trust, O God, from my youth. On you I depend from birth; from my mother’s womb you are my strength I will sing of your salvation.” (Psalm 71:5-6)
Where does your hope come from?
Several years ago my husband was severely burned in an explosion. I still look back in wonder at God’s amazing grace as He carried us through that storm. As I flew with Paul and his medical team to a burn center in St. Paul, Minn., God’s word from Hebrews 13:5 reassured me, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”
As God is always true to His promises He was with us every step of the way providing us with strength and miraculous healing. We were blessed with so many prayer warriors. Both Paul and I could feel the peace that passes all understanding, the peace that only God can bring.
Ever since that event in our lives we have had the opportunity to share with many what an amazing God we serve and how incredibly blessed we are! Even though we would never have chosen the journey that Paul’s accident took us on, we would never go back to where we were in our faith walk before he was burned. It is my prayer that your hope is in the Lord. He can see you through the worst of life’s storms.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” (1 Peter 3:15b)
