Where Can They Turn?
Saturday, April 12, 2014
Saturday of the Fifth Week of Lent
“Now the Passover of the Jews was near, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. They were looking for Jesus and were asking one another as they stood in the temple, ‘What do you think? Surely he will not come to the festival, will he?’” (John 11:55-56)
The people were looking for Jesus. They had seen and heard of His many miracles. Jesus had even raised a man (Lazarus) from the dead. They wanted to see and hear Jesus. What would He do or say next? They probably had many questions for Jesus.
Today, people are looking for meaning in their busy, hectic lives. They are searching for answers to their many questions. Where can they turn? Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
What are you looking for? Don’t be discouraged if you cannot seem to find what you are looking for. He is waiting on you. God will satisfy your soul.
Lord, help us to find You in all ways and walks of life. Amen.
