“ … and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.” (Acts 11:26)
What a concept and blessing to be called a Christian. As Christians, many times we are called upon to share our faith with fellow Christians, especially with Christians. Just recently, I was given an opportunity (at the time albeit I felt it more of a challenge) to share my faith with a teenager from Tanzania, Africa. This girl had been in the United States four years and in this time had picked up on Christianity. She knew there was a God but did not know how much He truly loved her. She expressed it was neither normal for her to hear that someone loved her nor normal for her to feel loved by the actions of others. She and I talked over the course of the Teens Encounter Christ retreat weekend, and by the end of the weekend she had a whole new outlook on Christianity and how much God loved her and wanted to be the center of her life.
We are strategically placed in the lives of others to make a difference by enthusiastically sharing the faith, hope, joy, peace and love that has been placed in our hearts by the Lover of our souls, Jesus. The next time this opportunity comes knocking at your door, answer it and witness the difference it will make in the life of another as well your own.
