Lifting Up

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

Tuesday of the Second Week of Easter

“And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” (John 3:15)

Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer. For those who believe in Christ and follow His example, eternal life has been promised. To me this scripture is stating that those who believe in Christ must hold Him up to the rest of the world so all can have eternal life. But how does one do this?

Yes, you can proselytize and share your beliefs in hopes of converting others. But many people may feel uncomfortable doing that. If you don’t feel comfortable sharing your beliefs with others, there are other ways of “lifting up Christ.”

You can be an example of His mission and teachings. Show kindness, forgiveness, charity and mercy to others. If you are a good and happy person, others will want to know what makes you happy. They will want to be around you and will see that following in the footsteps of Christ helps a person become the best he or she can be.

Heavenly Father,

help us know the correct path to follow.

Help us to be examples of Christ to others.

By doing this, let us share the message of love that Christ had for all.

In Your Son’s Name. Amen.
