Praise. Just Praise.

Thursday of the Twenty-Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

β€œThe Lord takes delight in his people. Let them praise his name in the festive dance, let them sing praise to him with timbrel and harp. For the Lord loves his people, and he adorns the lowly with victory.” (Psalm 149: 3-4)

For the most part, I just want to be happy. If I can face life’s challenges with a sprinkle of joy and a bit of a smile; if I can lend a word of comfort to those who are in need of that word — that is what I want to do. The verses from the Psalms are full of praise — singing, dancing and rejoicing. So today, I am going to let that September sun shine deep into my bones for a moment with faith that the sun will always shine upon the land. I am going to do a little jig and a bit of rejoicing for this wonderful time of being and this most glorious day.

Good and Gracious God,

we lift our praise and gratitude for this day that we walk on Your earth.

We lift up those that are weary or sad and cannot be filled with praise.

We carry them and pray for better days ahead.

We know that Your love surrounds us, is among us and in us.

Please help all of us to see how we can share Your love on this most glorious September day. Amen.
