A special night is planned to raise awareness of breast cancer on February 1, 2013.
A special ceremony and fundraiser is taking place to raise awareness of breast cancer during the Rock Valley Rockets vs. Sioux Center Warriors basketball games on February 1, 2013. The gym in Sioux Center will be filled with pink t-shirts and sunglasses, including pink jerseys (or warm-ups) for the home basketball teams.
A special “We Will Remember” ceremony will be held during the boy’s half-time to recognize those affected by cancer. All attendees affected by cancer are invited to participate in the ceremony, both home and away visitors. A Taco Feed will be held before the game at 5:15pm to raise money for the Sioux Center Athletic and Music Boosters.
A total of 600 t-shirts and sunglasses were sold to raise money for free digital mammograms. The Sioux Center High School Key Club and the Sioux Center Community Hospital & Health Center Avera partnered to sell the merchandise. All proceeds will be going to local women who meet certain income requirements. To find out if you qualify, please fill out a form request online at www.schospital.org.
